Embracing ThanksLiving—cherishing every moment, finding gratitude even in times of loss, and living each day with love.
This Year, I See Thanksgiving Differently
This holiday season, my perspective on gratitude has completely shifted.
Last Wednesday, my daughter’s husband unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack, leaving her to raise their baby daughter and two stepsons alone. In the midst of heartbreak, one of those stepsons said something that deeply resonated with me.
💬 Caleb Stephens, age 20, said:
“We will get through this funeral on Monday, and then we will begin to celebrate ThanksLiving.”
ThanksLiving: A New Way to See Life
What a profound shift in perspective! Instead of just being thankful on one day, what if we lived every moment in gratitude?
✨ Life is fleeting.
✨ It’s fragile.
✨ It can change in an instant.
So why wait to express love? Why not cherish every moment as if it were the last?
How to Practice ThanksLiving Every Day
Instead of reserving gratitude for one day a year, here’s how we can carry it with us daily:
✔ Look at every person through the lens of love.
✔ Say the words—express your appreciation now.
✔ Savor the simple moments.
✔ Live fully, without holding back.
Gratitude in the Face of Loss
Even in times of deep sorrow, gratitude can anchor us. It doesn’t erase pain, but it helps us see the beauty that still remains.
🌿 I am grateful for my family.
🌿 I am grateful for my life.
🌿 And I am deeply grateful for each of you.
Thank you for being part of my journey.
