The Greatest Gift: A Holiday Season of Giving from the Heart

A heartwarming holiday scene featuring a person giving a heartfelt gift to another, surrounded by warm lighting and festive decorations, capturing the spirit of generosity and gratitude.

The greatest gifts aren’t wrapped in paper—they’re wrapped in love, kindness, and gratitude. Give from the heart this holiday season

This Time of Year, Gift Giving Is on Our Minds…

During this season, many of our thoughts turn to gift giving—whether for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or another tradition.

🎁 We make our lists.
🎁 We carefully choose presents for those we love.
🎁 We seek out the perfect gifts to bring joy.

But this year, I decided to do something different.

I spend so much time writing, teaching, and speaking about looking within—about discovering our own answers and tapping into our power to create our reality.

So, instead of focusing on gifts for others, I decided to give a gift to myself.

What Do You Give Yourself When You Need Nothing?

At first, this was an interesting challenge.

I don’t need anything material.
In fact, I’ve been letting go of excess—clearing out what no longer serves me.
Anything unused or unworn in the past four years has been donated or sold.

I wanted my gift to myself to be meaningful and special.

💍 Jewelry? No—I already have too much.
🚗 A new car? I couldn’t justify that in this economy.
🤔 Something else extravagant? Nothing felt quite right.

I was at a loss.

A Holiday Song Gave Me the Answer

As I sat listening to holiday music, half-dozing, a familiar song came on the radio:

🎶 “The Little Drummer Boy.”

Then, I heard the verse where the drummer boy decides to give the Christ child his drum.

And in that moment, it hit me.

The best, most meaningful present I could give myself was to give a part of myself to someone else.

I remembered the words of Jesus:

“What you do to the least of these, you do also to me.”

That’s when I was reminded—once again—of the true meaning of this season.

The Universal Truth of Giving

It doesn’t matter what religion you follow or what philosophy guides you.

This is a universal truth:

💖 When you take the time, effort, and love to do something for someone else,
💖 You give yourself a far greater gift than anything you could buy.

And so, my gift this year is simple but powerful:

💫 Gratitude.
💫 Love.
💫 A heartfelt offering that knows no bounds.

And my gift to YOU? Deep appreciation for your presence in my life.

Happy Holidays—may this season bring you joy, peace, and the gift of giving from the heart.
